Sébastien DEREEPER is a Professor of Finance at SKEMA Business School and Université de Lille, France. He holds an HDR (Habilitation à Diriger des Recherches) and a Doctorate in Finance from Université de Lille. His academic career includes full-time positions since 2000, with roles such as Head of the Master of Banking and Finance at Université de Lille (2008–2018). His research focuses on corporate finance, banking, IPOs, and financial regulation, with publications in journals like Journal of Banking and Finance and Finance Research Letters.
Key research interests include credit risk management, dividend policy, underwriting syndicates, and equity carve-outs. His work explores market dynamics in France and global contexts, addressing topics like bank credit rates, M&A outcomes, and state-ownership structures in emerging markets.
DEREEPER has been actively involved in academic associations such as the Association Française de Finance (AFFI) and the Association Française des Trésoriers d'Entreprise (AFTE). His contributions span peer-reviewed articles, book chapters, and conference presentations, reflecting a strong engagement with both theoretical and applied financial research.
