Ryszard Zdyb

Prof. Dr. hab. Ryszard Zdyb is a full professor at Maria Curie-Skłodowska University (UMCS) in Lublin, Poland, serving as the Director of the Institute of Physics within the Faculty of Mathematics, Physics and Computer Science. He specializes in surface physics and nanostructures, with a particular focus on low-dimensional materials like silicene and antimonene.

Research Interests:

• Surface physics and nanostructures
• Two-dimensional materials (silicene, antimonene)
• Epitaxial growth and electronic structure
• Magnetic ultrathin films and spintronics
• Low-energy electron microscopy (LEEM) and LEED

His research spans both fundamental and applied aspects of nanoscale systems, with recent emphasis on 2D ferromagnetic heterostructures and UV-absorbing smart materials.
