Wolfgang Kuch

Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Kuch is a faculty member at the Department of Physics, Institute of Experimental Physics, Free University of Berlin. His research focuses on magnetic thin films, nanomagnetism, magnetic molecules, X-ray spectroscopy of magnetic materials, spin electronics, and spin dynamics.

Research Interests: He investigates magnetic ultrathin films, multilayer systems, surfaces, nanostructures, and adsorbed molecules. His work targets fundamental exploration of novel functional properties for applications in magnetic data storage, magnetic sensors, and magnetoelectronics. Techniques include ferromagnetic resonance, scanning tunneling microscopy, magneto-optical Kerr effect, and synchrotron radiation (XMCD, PEEM).

Key Research Areas: Ultrathin antiferromagnetic films, magnetization dynamics, time-resolved measurements of magnetization reversal dynamics, interaction mechanisms in magnetic multilayer systems, and switchable molecules on surfaces.
