Ryan Stanger

Ryan Stanger is the Medical Director of the Physician Associate Program at Berry College and an Associate Professor in the Department of Anesthesiology at the Medical College of Georgia, part of Augusta University. His clinical work is based at Advent Health Redmond, where he has led transformative programs in cardiac anesthesia and perioperative care.

His work focuses on improving patient outcomes through innovative clinical programs such as Enhanced Recovery after Surgery (ERAS), Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR), and Mitra-clip procedures for high-risk cardiac patients. These initiatives aim to reduce hospital stays, lower complication rates, and improve quality of life for patients who are not candidates for traditional surgery.

His contributions to medical education are significant—he has received the Outstanding Medical Student Teaching Award in 2015 and has developed educational partnerships involving cardiothoracic surgeons, nurses, and respiratory therapists to reduce ventilator times post-surgery. He also mentors residents in 'life skills' topics such as financial planning and debt management.
