Brantley D. Gaitan

Dr. Brantley D. Gaitan is an Associate Professor in the Department of Anesthesiology and Perioperative Medicine at Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Science in Phoenix, Arizona. He specializes in cardiothoracic and vascular anesthesia with particular expertise in transesophageal echocardiography. His clinical work focuses on providing anesthesia for complex cardiac and vascular procedures, liver transplantation, and thoracic surgeries including pectus excavatum repair.

Dr. Gaitan's educational background includes undergraduate studies in Physics at Randolph-Macon Woman's College (1998), an MD from the University of South Alabama College of Medicine (2002), General Surgery internship (2003), Anesthesiology residency and Chief Resident position (2006), and Cardiothoracic and Vascular Anesthesia fellowship (2007), all at Jackson Memorial Hospital/University of Miami. He is board-certified in Anesthesiology by the American Board of Anesthesiology.
