Ryan Siemers is an Assistant Professor of English at Southern Utah University, specializing in the history of the novel, religion and literature, and secularization theory. His work explores intersections between literary forms and theological concepts, particularly the secularization of religious practices like confession.

Research Interests: Focuses on secularization theory, the evolution of the novel, and the interplay between religious traditions and literary narratives. His book project, "Secularizing Confession: A History of the Novel," examines how the sacrament of penance influenced novelistic structures.
