معرفی
Ryan S Dhindsa, M.D., Ph.D., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Pathology & Immunology at Baylor College of Medicine and a Principal Investigator at the Jan and Dan Duncan Neurological Research Institute. He is also affiliated with the Division of Genomic Medicine at Texas Children's Hospital. His research integrates human genomics, multi-omics, stem cell modeling, and computational biology to advance precision medicine for neurological and developmental disorders.
Education:
- M.D./Ph.D. – Columbia University
- B.S. – Duke University
Research Interests:
Dhindsa's research spans three core pillars: (1) Population-level omics, where he leads large-scale genomic studies to identify rare variants associated with diseases like epilepsy, diabetes, and idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis; (2) Human stem cell models, using CRISPR-edited iPSC-derived neurons to study neurodevelopmental disorders; and (3) Computational biology & machine learning, developing AI-driven tools to interpret genetic variation and accelerate therapeutic discovery.
His lab is actively building a large, ancestrally diverse pediatric biobank at Texas Children's Hospital and is committed to mentoring the next generation of scientists through inclusive, collaborative training.
Scientific Contributions:
- Over 50 peer-reviewed publications in top-tier journals including Nature, Cell, Neuron, and American Journal of Human Genetics
- Key discoveries in genetic architecture of epilepsy, neurodevelopmental disorders, and cancer
- Development of computational tools for variant interpretation and drug target prediction
Current Team & Mentorship:
Dhindsa leads a multidisciplinary team including postdocs, graduate students, research technicians, and bioinformaticians. His lab fosters a collaborative environment and is actively recruiting at all levels.
