Ryan Newell

Ryan Newell is a Professor of Psychology at Oklahoma Christian University (OC), where he has been affiliated since 1992. He holds a Ph.D. in Guidance and Counseling with an emphasis in family therapy and a minor in research and statistics from the University of Toledo (1994). His teaching portfolio includes courses in Research Methods, Statistics, Abnormal Psychology, Cybernetics, and Systems Theory. He has served as faculty sponsor for OC’s Psychology Club and Psi Chi since 1992.

• Professional Affiliations: Active member of the American Psychological Society; President of the Oklahoma Psychological Society.
• Licensure: Licensed Behavioral Practitioner in Oklahoma with a private practice in marriage and family therapy.

Community Engagement: Ryan and his wife, Tamara, are members of Wilshire Church of Christ in Oklahoma City, where he serves as Elder. They raised two children, Brent and Amber, both 2007 graduates of respective institutions.
