Ryan Minor is an Associate Professor in the Department of Music History and Theory at Stony Brook University. His research centers on the intersection of musical and political culture in 19th-century Germany, with a focus on opera, choral traditions, and music's role in the public sphere. He also explores operatic staging, nationalism, and the politics of musical spectatorship in bourgeois society.
