Ryan Barlongo is a Lecturer II in the Department of Physical Education & Recreation at Gallaudet University, part of the Human Services and Sciences school. He teaches courses such as Foundations of Physical Education and Recreation, Concepts and Skills of Physical Fitness, Motor Learning, and Practicum in Athletic Coaching. His service awards include the 5-Year Service Award (2019) and 10-Year Service Award (2024). Barlongo has served on multiple search committees, including roles as Search Committee Chair for PER (2018/19) and Search Committee Member for IRE (2021/22). He has also coordinated PER tutoring and contributed to institutional initiatives like the Bilingual Approach Seminar (BAS) and Digital Teaching and Learning Series. His professional development includes certifications from the American Red Cross and American Aerobic Association International (AAAI).
Barlongo has advised numerous undergraduate students, with advising loads consistently ranging from 10-14 students per semester since 2014.
