Ruxanda Berlinschi is an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) at KU Leuven, affiliated with the Economics Research Group in Brussels and the LICOS Centre for Institutions and Economic Performance in Leuven. Her research focuses on migration's political and economic impacts, development economics, and policy analysis. She investigates topics such as refugee integration, transnational political attitudes, agricultural policy, and the socioeconomic effects of migration and aid.
Her work bridges political economy, migration studies, and development economics, with notable contributions to understanding how migration influences voting behavior, labor markets, and public policy. She also examines structural challenges in education and agriculture, particularly in post-Soviet and Eastern European contexts. Her recent research explores the geopolitical implications of Russia's invasion of Ukraine on European integration and the socio-economic consequences of the pandemic on migration patterns.
Berlinschi's publications span interdisciplinary journals and policy evaluations, including analyses of EU Framework Programmes for sustainable agriculture and bioeconomy strategies. She is affiliated with KU Leuven's Brussels and Leuven campuses, contributing to both research and teaching in economics.
