Sandra Rousseau is a Professor at KU Leuven's Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB), with her primary work address at the Brussels Campus (Warmoesberg 26, 1000 Brussel). She also maintains an office at the main Leuven campus (Naamsestraat 69 - box 3565, 3000 Leuven). As head of Subdivision 37 at the Brussels Campus, she serves on multiple committees including the Council of the Faculty of Economics and Business and the Campus Council FEB, Brussels Campus.
Her research focuses on environmental economics and policy design, circular economy, biodiversity and nature, impact assessment and non-market valuation, and policy implementation and enforcement. Dr. Rousseau leads the INVABIO project (Individual-based Value Assessment of Biodiversity in Policy Implementation, 2022-2026) and serves as Co-promotor for the Support Center Circular Economy (2022-2026) and for research on Contractual rights and liabilities in circular business models (2019-2023).
Dr. Rousseau's extensive publication record demonstrates a clear trend toward interdisciplinary environmental research that bridges economics, policy, and behavioral science. Her recent work examines circular economy implementation across various sectors including textiles, coffee cup systems, and sharing platforms, while also addressing broader climate policy issues like carbon leakage.
