Ruven Fleming

R.C. (Ruven) Fleming is an Assistant Professor of Energy Law and Scientific Coordinator of the Groningen Centre of Energy Law and Sustainability (GCELS) at the University of Groningen's Faculty of Law. He holds a Visiting Associate Professorship at Macquarie University, Sydney. His expertise spans Energy Law, Hydrogen Regulation, Renewable Energy Policy, and Energy Investment Trade Law.

Education:

• LL.M. in Oil and Gas Law from the University of Aberdeen
• PhD in Law from the University of Aberdeen
• Undergraduate law studies at the University of Marburg
• Russian language studies at Moscow State University

Research Interests: Focuses on hydrogen regulation, unconventional energy production, energy investment, and climate law. He has authored major works like the Cambridge Handbook of Hydrogen and the Law and contributes to journals such as the Journal of Energy and Natural Resources Law.

Labs/Teams: Leads GCELS and collaborates with the North Sea Energy Law Partnership. Engaged in international initiatives like the International Association of Energy Law.
