Melina Rutishauser is a Lecturer and PhD candidate at the Institute of Social Anthropology, University of Basel, Switzerland. She is affiliated with the Department of Social Sciences and contributes to the Graduate School of Social Sciences (G3S). Her academic work focuses on social health protection, participation, gender, and medical anthropology, particularly in Tanzania.
Her research explores everyday engagement in health protection mechanisms in the Kilombero Valley, Tanzania, and she has conducted fieldwork in Brazil and Switzerland. She is supported by the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF) for her PhD project under Prof. Dr. Brigit Obrist.
