Ruth Prakasam is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of English at Suffolk University, where she teaches World Literature in English (ENG-135), First Year Writing (WRI-101, WRI-H103, WRI-102), and Honors Strategies of Success (CAS-H101). She has been affiliated with Suffolk University since at least 2010.
Education:

- BA in English from Andrews University
Research Interests: Dr. Prakasam’s scholarship explores 19th-century British women's travelwriting, particularly works about India, and colonial/post-colonial literature in the Anglophone tradition. Her research intersects with Victorian literature, cultural studies, gender studies, and Anglo-Indian historical narratives.
Conference Presentations: She has presented at the Northeast Modern Language Association Convention on topics such as the representation of Indian women in British literature (Toronto, 2015), narratives of the Mutiny in novels (Boston, 2013), and the symbolic role of Englishwomen in colonial India (Montreal, 2010).
