Ruth Morgan

Associate Professor Ruth Morgan directs the ANU Centre for Environmental History, specializing in environmental history and climate studies across Australia, the British Empire, and Indian Ocean world. Her research has received support from the Australian Research Council, Humboldt Foundation, and Rachel Carson Center.

Key research areas:

• Water management histories in Australia and India
• Climate justice and environmental policy
• Settler colonialism and health governance

Publications examine intersections of environmental change, imperial science, and social justice. Current projects include 'Water and the Making of Urban Australia' and 'Understanding water cultures of the Murray-Darling Basin'.

She previously held positions at Monash University and completed postgraduate studies at the University of Western Australia.
