Ruth Hol Mjanger is a Senior Lecturer in Drama at NLA University College in Oslo, Norway, with over 21 years of teaching experience in teacher education. Qualified as a senior lecturer in 2015 based on her triple competence as an artist, teacher, and researcher, she promotes aesthetic learning processes in drama through interdisciplinary collaborations, focusing on ethical, religious, and multicultural issues in education, art, and society.
Mjanger holds a Master's degree in Drama Pedagogy from Høgskolen i Bergen (2007) with diverse educational background including:
- Teaching Artist certificate (2016, SEANSE, Høgskulen i Volda)
- Migration Pedagogy studies with thesis on bilingualism in Norwegian schools (2004, NLA)

Her artistic practice explores ensemble work, intercultural communication, and religious education through creative expression.
Mjanger's publications (2010-2023) consistently address drama in educational development, with increasing focus on ethical documentation in performance art. Her Nepal-based research examines teacher ownership, gift theory in educational development, and interdisciplinary approaches to preschool teacher training, reflecting her commitment to bridging artistic practice with pedagogical innovation in multicultural settings.
Mjanger leads significant international projects including the NORHED II initiative (2021-2026) funded by Norad to establish research-based teacher education in Nepal. She has directed multiple development projects since 2011, including PRISM (2018-2020) and INTENT (2018-present), securing funding from NORHED, NOTED, and EURASIA programs. Her leadership extends to coordinating research clusters on artistic development work and global education perspectives.
Mjanger leads NLA's "Global Perspectives in Education" research group (2020-present) and founded the "Artistic Development Work" cluster (2015-2019). As co-creator of the artist duo Frantzsen&Mjanger (2017-present), she develops projects like "I himmelsynet" (2013-2016) and current exhibitions including "Lend a Breath" at Glasslåven and Hå Gamle prestegård, demonstrating her integration of artistic practice with educational research.
