Rustam Sengupta

Rustam Sengupta is an Adjunct Professor at the University of British Columbia's Institute for Resources, Environment and Sustainability (IRES). He concurrently serves as Associate Director at the John Hopkin’s University Institute of Sustainable Energy Policy (ISEP) and holds board roles at multiple energy-focused enterprises. His work bridges academia and industry, focusing on renewable energy access, impact investing, and policy design with a South Asia focus.

Research Interests: Dr. Sengupta specializes in sustainable social enterprise design, rooftop solar deployment, and energy policy analysis. His interdisciplinary approach addresses systemic challenges in energy access, leveraging market-led solutions and innovative financing models. Key areas include energy storage, smart grids, and electric transportation infrastructure.
