Russell D. Ostermann is an Associate Professor and Director of Undergraduate Studies in Petroleum Engineering at the Department of Chemical & Petroleum Engineering, University of Kansas. He holds a B.S. (1974) and Ph.D. (1980) in Chemical Engineering from the University of Kansas. His research focuses on petroleum engineering, environmental biotechnology, and industry-academia collaboration.
Key research interests include bioremediation of crude oil, multiphase flow dynamics, and educational partnerships with industry. His publications highlight themes such as enhancing industry-education collaboration through SPE roles and advancing biodegradation techniques for environmental remediation.
