معرفی
Rupak Datta is an Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Department of Internal Medicine, specializing in Infectious Diseases at Yale School of Medicine, and serves as an Assistant Hospital Epidemiologist at the Veterans Affairs Connecticut Healthcare System. His work bridges clinical practice and research in antimicrobial stewardship and infection prevention across multiple healthcare settings.
Dr. Datta's research focuses on understanding patterns and drivers of antimicrobial use, methods to assess appropriateness, and the development and evaluation of methods to improve antimicrobial use. Beyond antimicrobial stewardship, he is broadly interested in the clinical epidemiology of highly antibiotic-resistant organisms and the measurement and prevention of healthcare-associated infections. His work spans home-based primary care, nursing homes, cancer care settings, and hospital environments, with particular emphasis on vulnerable populations including older adults and those with dementia.
Analysis of Dr. Datta's recent publications reveals a strong focus on antimicrobial stewardship across diverse healthcare settings, with particular attention to home-based care, nursing homes, and cancer patients. His research combines epidemiological methods with implementation science to address practical challenges in antibiotic prescribing. A notable theme is the intersection of geriatric care and infectious diseases, with several studies examining antibiotic use in older adults with dementia, advanced cancer, and other complex conditions.
