Runcie Tatnall is a Professor of Foundation Studies at Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) since 2022. Previously, he served as Assistant Professor and Head of Drawing Area at Stephen F. Austin State University (2010–2016), and held adjunct roles at Miami International University of Art and Design, Barry University, and others. He holds an M.F.A. in Art from the University of Miami and a B.A. in Art from the University of Delaware.
His research and creative practice focus on painting, portraiture, and figure studies. Notable works include large-scale murals for Knox Medical LLC in Wynwood Miami (2018), commissioned portraits, and solo exhibitions such as Impressions of Quarantine (2020) and Fight Club: In the Ring (2016). His art has been featured in national and international venues like the National Art Museum of Sport, Jack Meir Gallery (Houston), and Carspecken-Scott Gallery (Delaware).
Tatnall has received numerous awards, including the Miami-Dade Artists Support! Grant (2020), Best in Show at 'Waterscapes II' (2019), and Still-life Artist of the Year (2018). His work has been published in Creative Quarterly (2018, 2014) and Studio Visit Magazine (2016).
As an educator, he has mentored students through studio courses and juried exhibitions, emphasizing technical skill and conceptual depth. His professional collaborations include gallery representation with Carspecken-Scott, Jack Meir, and MEG: The Art of Boxing Gallery.
