Ruixing Cao

Ruixing Cao is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Institute of Political Science, University of Duisburg-Essen, Germany. His research focuses on international relations, particularly China’s global influence, civil conflicts, political violence, and international security cooperation.

Ruixing’s work explores how China’s economic and diplomatic engagements in Africa are shaped by domestic politics, as part of a German Research Foundation (DFG)-funded project. He also investigates foreign intervention in civil wars, civil-military relations, and the impact of terrorism on security cooperation.

His recent publications include studies on personalism in civil conflict negotiations and political settlements in China’s overseas operations. These works span subfields like conflict mediation, economic diplomacy, and Sino-African relations.
