Ruiwei Jiang

Ruiwei Jiang is an Associate Professor in the Department of Industrial & Operations Engineering at the University of Michigan. He joined the university in Fall 2015 after serving as an assistant professor at the University of Arizona for two years.

  • B.S. in Industrial Engineering from Tsinghua University
  • Ph.D. in Industrial & Systems Engineering from the University of Florida under advisor Yongpei Guan

His research focuses on the theory and methods of stochastic and discrete optimization, with applications to critical societal domains such as electric power systems, healthcare, and transportation systems. He has held leadership roles in INFORMS, including chairing the Computing Society Best Student Paper competition and co-organizing the INFORMS DEI Student Paper competition.
