Ruitian Lang

Ruitian Lang is a Lecturer in the Research School of Economics at Australian National University (ANU). His research focuses on microeconomic theory, including dynamic games and mechanism design, with applications to policy dynamics and industrial organization. He explores how forward-looking interactions and information asymmetries shape economic outcomes, particularly in contexts like procurement and negotiation.

His work has been published in top journals such as the Journal of Economic Theory and the American Economic Journal: Microeconomics. Key topics include dynamic information acquisition in contractual settings and the design of political institutions (‘kludges’) to address bureaucratic challenges.

Ruitian is affiliated with ANU’s Research School of Economics and has contributed to collaborative projects, including a 2016–2017 initiative on human-machine teaming design as a Co-Investigator. He is actively engaged in supervising research students and guiding interdisciplinary economic inquiry.
