Ruiliang Pu

Dr. Ruiliang Pu is a Professor in the School of Geosciences at the University of South Florida (USF), specializing in remote sensing, GIS, and spatial statistics. His research focuses on natural hazard monitoring, land use/cover change, coastal ecosystems, and urban environmental studies. He holds a Ph.D. from the Chinese Academy of Sciences (2000) and has held academic and research roles at institutions including UC Berkeley and the University of Maryland. He has authored over 136 peer-reviewed publications and serves on editorial boards for Remote Sensing and Geosciences. Notable awards include the 1991 Chinese Ministry of Forestry Science Prize and the 2010 CAAT Board Service Award. His current projects include coastal wetland monitoring and urban tree canopy analysis. He teaches advanced remote sensing, GIS applications, and environmental studies courses.
