Dr Ruijie Wang is a Senior Lecturer in Psychology at Bournemouth University, specializing in Cyberpsychology and Human-Computer Interaction. She leads the GambleAware-funded responsible gambling project focusing on transparency in gambling sites using eye-tracking and co-design methods. Previously, she earned a PhD in Computer Science from De Montfort University (2020), researching motivation modeling for dyslexic learners.
Her research spans user-centered design in online gambling and e-learning, employing multidisciplinary approaches including eye-tracking, EEG, and machine learning. Key affiliations include the BU Gambling Research Group, Interdisciplinary Neuroscience Research Centre (INRC), and Bournemouth University HCI Research Group (BUCHI).
Recent work emphasizes transparency in technology, generative AI ethics, and cross-cultural decision-making. She has supervised multiple international PhD students and contributed to over 20 peer-reviewed publications since 2017. Her work aligns with UN SDGs including Quality Education, Good Health & Well-being, and Gender Equality.
