Ellie Jack is a Senior Lecturer/Academic and Senior University Practice Learning Adviser at Bournemouth University’s Faculty of Health and Social Sciences. Her role focuses on bridging university-practice partnerships, ensuring quality healthcare placements for students. With a background as a registered mental health nurse and adult nurse, she has extensive experience in acute and community healthcare settings. She joined BU in 2001, initially as a researcher on community health projects, then transitioned to academic roles including Associate Lecturer in Mental Health Nursing (2010–2014) before her current UPLA role.

- Registered Mental Health Nurse (NMC, 1990)
Research Interests: Her work aligns with UN SDGs 3 (Good Health), 4 (Quality Education), 5 (Gender Equality), and 10 (Reduced Inequalities). Key areas include mental health practice education, interagency collaboration in criminal justice/healthcare systems, and reducing social isolation among elderly populations. Recent studies focus on crisis care pathways and paramedic training innovations.

Teaching & Engagement: Teaches ‘Learning and Assessing In Practice’ for postgraduate students. Engages in public health outreach and serves as a peer reviewer for journals like Medical Education and The Lancet. She has led grants including the Bristol Women’s Court Support Worker Project (2015–present).
Labs/Teams: Collaborates with BU’s Health and Social Sciences faculty on interprofessional training initiatives and placement quality assurance programs.
