Dr. Silva's research critically examines the intersection of corporate finance, labor economics, and organizational behavior. His work investigates how corporate decisions—such as multi-industry operations, mergers, and bankruptcy—affect employee compensation, mental health, and talent retention. He pioneers studies on physiological and spiritual influences in economic decision-making, while analyzing institutional frameworks that drive innovation and shape credit rating impacts on political processes.
His publication trajectory from 2018-2024 reveals escalating focus on human dimensions of financial distress, with landmark studies in top journals like the Journal of Finance and Review of Financial Studies. Key themes include labor-market consequences of corporate restructuring, psychological impacts of mergers, and innovation barriers stemming from institutional weaknesses—demonstrating consistent methodological rigor in bridging finance with behavioral sciences.
