Ruhan Nagra is an Associate Professor of Law at the University of Utah's S.J. Quinney College of Law, where she founded and directs the Environmental Justice Clinic. Her clinic partners with Indigenous communities across the southwestern United States, employing interdisciplinary advocacy tools to advance social justice. Nagra's scholarship examines the justice implications of climate-induced relocation and environmental policy impacts on marginalized communities.
Her research has informed national discussions on environmental justice, particularly regarding industrial pollution in areas like Louisiana's 'Cancer Alley'. Media outlets including Reuters, Scientific American, and The Washington Post have featured her work examining regulatory frameworks and health impacts of environmental hazards.
Nagra holds a J.D. from Stanford Law School and a B.A. in Human Biology from Brown University. Prior to Utah, she co-founded the University Network for Human Rights and supervised clinical programs at Stanford Law School's Human Rights Clinic.
