Prof. Rudolf Grimm is a leading researcher in quantum matter at ultralow temperatures, heading the Grimm Lab at the University of Innsbruck and the Austrian Academy of Sciences. His work focuses on ultracold atoms, quantum gases, and many-body systems. He leads a team of PhD students and postdocs investigating phenomena like Fermi polarons and Bose-Einstein condensates. Key research themes include quantum mixtures, impurity interactions, and quantum engineering. His group's experiments explore novel states of quantum matter and their properties. Recent studies include mediated interactions between Fermi polarons and phase transitions in Fermi-Bose mixtures.
Students include Erich Dobler, Niclas Höllrigl, and others. Collaborations involve the Center for Ultracold Atoms and Quantum Gases. Funding comes from the Austrian Academy of Sciences and programs like SFB FoQuS. The lab’s address is Institut für Quantenoptik und Quanteninformation, Technikerstraße 21a, Innsbruck.
