Roydon Fraser is a Professor and Teaching Chair in the Department of Mechanical and Mechatronics Engineering at the University of Waterloo. He is an investigator in the Green Intelligent Transportation Systems Group and has served as past-President of the University of Waterloo Faculty Association. He is also a Professional Engineers Ontario Councillor and holds roles in the Sandford Fleming Foundation, Ontario Engineering Competition Board, and Engineers without Borders.
Education:
- 1991: P.Eng. Professional Engineering (Ontario)
- 1989: Doctorate in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering (Princeton University)
- 1985: Master's in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering (Princeton University)
- 1983: Bachelor's in Engineering Physics (Queen's University)
Research Interests: Fraser focuses on energy conversion systems, including spark ignition engine combustion, alternative fuels (natural gas, ethanol, hydrogen), hybrid vehicles, exergy analysis, and thermal performance modeling. His work also addresses emissions impacts and ecosystem thermodynamics.

- University of Waterloo Outstanding Performance Award (2005)
Teaching & Advising: Fraser teaches courses such as ME 100, ME 250, ME 354, and ME 659. He is currently accepting graduate students through an online application process.
Labs/Groups: Active member of the Green Intelligent Transportation Systems Group, focusing on sustainable energy and vehicle technologies.
