Roy Liang Tan

Roy Liang Tan serves as Professor of Practice in Management and Strategy and Programme Director for the Customised Programme of Executive Education at HKU Business School, The University of Hong Kong. With over two decades of corporate leadership experience at General Electric and Alibaba Group, he integrates real-world strategic insights into academic instruction since joining HKU in 2024.

His research focuses on leadership system design, organizational agility, and values-driven transformation. He pioneered blended in-person/digital learning methodologies at GE's Crotonville China and developed Alibaba's Future CEO Program for AI-driven market navigation. His work emphasizes real-time feedback systems, cultural intelligence, and the interplay between corporate values and strategic decision-making.
