معرفی
Dr. Roy Issa is a Professor of Mechanical Engineering at West Texas A&M University, joining the faculty in 2004. He holds a B.S. and M.S. from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, and a Ph.D. from the University of Pittsburgh. His expertise spans thermal-fluid sciences, including single/multi-phase heat transfer, and he has industry experience in aerospace (e.g., shuttle system analysis) and steel rolling (e.g., roll cooling, mill vibration studies). He co-invented a US patent on flat product rolling.
Teaching focuses on thermal-fluid courses (heat transfer, fluid mechanics) and solids-related subjects (mechanical vibration, robotics). He has served on university committees (e.g., Faculty Senate, Tenure & Promotion) and international panels (Austrian-American Fulbright Commission). A member of ASME, Tau Beta Pi, and Pi Tau Sigma, his research emphasizes industrial-relevant fundamentals like multiphase cooling for steel, sustainable energy (wind towers, green roofs), and nanofluids. He authored/co-authored over 50 papers and was a Fulbright Scholar to Austria (2016).
Dr. Issa’s research also includes collaborations with Austrian institutions post-2016. His work integrates practical industry challenges with foundational science, such as enhancing heat exchanger efficiency and sustainable building materials.
He coordinates the ECORE Lab and participates in university outreach programs like Engineering Camp. His professional service includes roles in admissions appeals, study abroad, and scholarship committees.
