As a historian of international law, Giladi investigates intersections of theory, ideas, power, culture, and race. His research centers on colonial war (particularly the 1899–1902 South African War), the nexus between international law and Jewish history, and corporal punishment in imperial contexts. He examines how political authority is inscribed on the human body through legal frameworks, with emphasis on imperial power structures and marginalized narratives.
Recent publications reveal a trajectory toward interdisciplinary analysis of Jewish international lawyers, colonial war laws, and body politics. His work consistently bridges legal history, war studies, and critical race theory, exposing how law operates as both instrument and artifact of imperial power.
Advising and Grants: Giladi supervises doctoral research in international law, human rights, war, empire, and race. Funded projects include a Southlands Methodist Trust grant for 'The Laws and Customs of Colonial War' (with Tubingen University), a Capacity-Building Grant for 'Corpus Politicum: Political Authority and the Human Body' (hosted at Nicolaus Copernicus University), and participation in an Israel Science Foundation project on Jewish international lawyers (2019–2022).
He is embedded in Roehampton's Centre for Research in Society, Culture, and Social Change and maintains active collaborations with German, Polish, and UK institutions through workshops and edited volumes.
