معرفی
Rossella Laurano is a Fixed-term Researcher at the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering (DIMEAS) of the Polytechnic University of Turin, Italy, and an invited member of the College of Biomedical Engineering. Her academic career focuses on bioengineering applications in tissue models and advanced implant development.
Her research interests span 3D bioprinting, stimuli-responsive hydrogels, biomaterial functionalization, and personalized medicine. Recent work emphasizes wound healing and cardiac tissue engineering using gelatin methacryloyl hydrogels.
She has contributed to 5 recent publications (2023-2025) on topics including silk fibroin microparticles for wound healing, co-culture systems for stem cell maturation, and poly(urethane) cardiac constructs. These studies align with SDG Goal 3 (Good Health and Well-being) and employ techniques like UV/VIS photocuring and biofabrication.
Rossella serves as Course Lecturer and Collaborator for graduate courses in Bioengineering and Medical-Surgical Sciences, covering medical device design and regenerative medicine. She supervises PhD student Andrea Alliaud in the BIOINSIDE LAB research group, focusing on 3D tissue models for cytotoxicity analysis.
