معرفی
Alice Zoso is a Fixed-term Researcher at the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering (DIMEAS) at the Polytechnic University of Turin. She is affiliated with the College of Biomedical Engineering and is a member of the BIOINSIDE LAB research group. Her academic journey includes a PhD in Bioscience and Biotechnology from the University of Padova and post-doctoral work at the University of Geneva.
Dr. Zoso's research focuses on bioengineering applications for cardiac tissue regeneration and disease modeling. Her work spans cardiac fibrosis modeling, skeletal muscle tissue engineering, biomaterials development, 3D bioprinting techniques, and regenerative medicine applications. She specializes in creating in vitro models that mimic human physiological and pathological conditions, particularly for cardiac tissue.
Her recent publications demonstrate strong activity in cardiac tissue engineering, with emphasis on hydrogel development, 3D bioprinting of anisotropic tissues, and modeling of cardiac fibrosis. The research shows a clear trajectory toward developing preclinical testing platforms for cardiac regeneration therapies using advanced biomaterials and nanotechnology.
Dr. Zoso actively contributes to research funding efforts, participating in multiple EU-funded projects including INJECTHEAL, RECHARGE, 3DPathoSkin, MERIT, and NANOMIRC. These projects focus on advanced therapies for tissue regeneration, cardiac repair, and precision medicine applications.
She serves as a PhD supervisor for Francesca Cossetta in the Bioengineering and Medical-Surgical Sciences program and has been consistently involved in teaching activities, particularly as a Course Collaborator for Regenerative Medicine Engineering and Laboratory of Tissues and Physiological Processes' Models across multiple academic years from 2019/20 to 2025/26.
Her laboratory work centers around the BIOINSIDE LAB at DIMEAS, where she develops and characterizes 3D in vitro models of fibrotic cardiac tissue within the BIORECAR project framework. Her team focuses on creating bio-hybrid stretchable scaffolds that mimic the mechanical properties of fibrotic cardiac tissue for preclinical testing of regenerative therapies.
