Ross Wagstaff serves as a Visiting Instructor in the Department of Natural Science at Oregon Institute of Technology (Oregon Tech), a position he began in Fall 2021. He teaches undergraduate courses in biology, soils, and chemistry.
His educational background includes a PhD in plant, soil, and meteorological science from the University of Illinois.
Dr. Wagstaff's research focuses on soil-water-ecosystem health dynamics and practical resource management solutions for landowners. He actively develops ecological conservation tools through field projects in the Klamath Basin with key partners:

- USDA
- Klamath Soil and Water Conservation Services
He integrates Oregon Tech students into applied learning through internships with local agencies on Klamath Basin environmental initiatives, emphasizing hands-on resource management experience.
