Associate Professor Roslyn Bathgate is affiliated with the University of Sydney’s Faculty of Veterinary Science and is a member of the Sydney Institute of Agriculture. She holds academic qualifications including a BSc(Hons), Grad Cert Ed (Higher Ed), and PhD. Her research focuses on animal reproduction, particularly in domestic and wildlife species, with an emphasis on reproductive physiology, semen cryopreservation, and reproductive management strategies. Dr Bathgate leads the Animal Reproduction Group (ARGUS) and collaborates with industry partners through grants like the 2023 'Precision oestrus detection via development of pen side mucus testing and continuous remote monitoring' and the 2013 'Achieving low cost (cervical) artificial insemination with frozen ram semen'. Her work bridges veterinary science, agriculture, and conservation biology, addressing challenges in livestock production and endangered species management.
