Rosemary Callingham is an Adjunct Associate Professor in the Faculty of Education at the University of Tasmania, specializing in mathematics education. Her career spans roles in curriculum implementation, research, and international consultancy, including work with UNICEF in North Korea. She holds a PhD from the University of Melbourne and has contributed to national education projects, focusing on teacher development and student outcomes.
Education qualifications include a PhD (2004), MPubAdmin (1999), MEdStuds (1994), and DipEd (1988). Professional memberships include the Mathematics Education Research Group of Australasia (MERGA) and the Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD). She has led large-scale national projects, such as examining best practices in mathematics education and curriculum renewal.
Research interests focus on pedagogical content knowledge, statistical literacy, assessment methodologies (including Rasch modeling), and mental computation. Her work aligns with University of Tasmania themes of Creativity, Culture, and Society and Data, Knowledge, and Decisions.
