Roseanne Schuster is an Assistant Research Scientist at Arizona State University’s School of Human Evolution and Social Change, with affiliations at the Water Institute and the Global Futures Scientists and Scholars program. She holds roles as a Senior Global Futures Scientist and Program Lead for the online M.S. in Global Health program. Her research focuses on improving health service delivery in low-resource settings, addressing food and water insecurity’s impact on child health, and enhancing evaluation methods through community-based and participatory approaches. She has collaborated with global institutions like DFID, USAID, and NIH.
Education: Ph.D. in International Nutrition (Cornell University), M.Sc. in Community Health Sciences (University of Northern British Columbia), and B.S. in Biology (Canisius College). She is affiliated with multiple interdisciplinary centers, including the Center for Global Health and Southwest Interdisciplinary Research Center.
Research interests include monitoring and evaluation systems, maternal and child health, refugee health, and culturally responsive methodologies. Her work emphasizes cross-cultural contexts, with contributions to the Household Water InSecurity Experiences (HWISE) Scale and studies on health worker well-being during pandemics. She has secured over $15 million in external funding and co-authored numerous peer-reviewed publications on water insecurity, health systems, and global nutrition.
