Dr. Roseanne Rosenthal serves as President and Professor of Music Education at VanderCook College of Music in Chicago. She holds Bachelor of Music, Master of Science, and Doctor of Education degrees, having studied under Dr. Cornelia Yarbrough at Syracuse University. Her professional background includes extensive K-12 teaching experience in instrumental and general music prior to joining academia.
Research concentrations focus on:
- Music teacher preparation programs
- Motor skill acquisition in performance
- Technology integration in music instruction
- Educational psychology applications
- Assessment design for arts learning
She maintains editorial board positions for the Journal of Research in Music Education and Reviews of Research in Human Learning and Music, and has chaired the NAfME Music Education Research Council. Her leadership extends to professional service as past president of the Illinois Music Educators Association.
