Ronald Korbitz is a Professor at VanderCook College of Music, where he teaches methods classes and advises Master’s Projects since 2006. He concurrently serves as a faculty member at Hill Middle School, directing three curricular choirs, young men’s/women’s choruses, and teaching general/world music. Previously, he taught K-5 general music and directed ensembles at Brookdale Elementary. He also directs the Mighty Messengers Children’s Choir at Trinity Lutheran Church in Lisle.
Professionally, he has led Anima Young Singers of Greater Chicago, earning the Chorus America Award for creative programming. His choirs have performed with the Grant Park Orchestra and Chicago Symphony Orchestra. He is active in organizations such as NAfME, ILMEA, and serves as Children’s Choir Repertoire and Standards Chair for Illinois-ACDA.
His career spans over 15 years in music education, emphasizing choral direction, ensemble development, and innovative programming. He holds both Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in music education from VanderCook College of Music.
