Rosalea Monacella is a Design Critic in Landscape Architecture at Harvard University's Graduate School of Design (GSD). She holds a PhD from RMIT University, a Master's in Landscape Urbanism from the Architectural Association (AA) School in London, and a Bachelor of Architecture from RMIT. Her work focuses on urban environments, integrating dynamic resource flows and advanced digital modeling to create sustainable urban futures. She co-founded the OUTR Research Lab at RMIT and has led urban masterplans across multiple continents.
As Chief Editor, she developed Kerb Journal into a leading publication in landscape architecture. Her research emphasizes complex systems analysis, addressing economic, ecological, and social dimensions of urban transformation. Exhibitions like Energy||Power: Shaping the American Landscape (2020) showcase her curatorial contributions. She teaches core landscape architecture studios and has organized events on pedagogical innovation in design education.
