Dr. Rosa van der Ven is a Lecturer at the Marine Animal Ecology group within Wageningen University & Research. Previously, she held a position at the University of Essex (2019–2020), where she taught courses like Coral Reef Biology and Tropical Marine Systems. Her research focuses on population genetics, genetic connectivity of corals, and marine conservation. She completed her MSc in Biology at Wageningen University and her PhD on coral population genetics in the Western Indian Ocean and Red Sea.

Research Interests: Coral reef ecology, marine genetic diversity, biogeography of marine organisms, and scientific diving methodologies. She coordinates courses in scientific diving and represents the Dutch Scientific Diving Platform nationally.

Teaching & Administration: Supervises student theses/internships and coordinates courses like 'Scientific Diving' and 'Marine Animal Ecology'. Active in curriculum development and group administration.
