Rosa Maria Toscano is an Associate Professor in Organic Chemistry (CHIM/06) at the Department of Chemical Sciences, University of Catania. She has been a faculty member since 1991 and has held the title of Associate Professor since the 2005-2006 academic year.

- Graduated in Chemistry cum laude (110/110) from the University of Catania
Her research focuses on:
- Design and synthesis of chiral macrocycles as neutral ditopic receptors
- Selective oxygen transfer processes and biomimetic catalysis
- Synthesis, reactivity, and biological role of peroxo complexes of Mo(VI), W(VI), and V(V)
She has participated in numerous research projects, including MURST 60%, COFIN 2003, FIRB 2003, PRIN 2004-2011, PON 2003-2007, FAR MIUR 2006-2008, FIRB MERIT, PON Energetic 2007-2013, and FIR 2014. Her work has resulted in 60+ scientific publications and conference presentations.
Scientific awards include the 1988 Guido Donegani Foundation Scholarship.
She has taught a variety of courses at the Master's and Bachelor's levels, including:
