Rosa Canelli is a Researcher at the University of Sannio in the Department of Law, Economics, Management and Quantitative Methods (DEMM). Her research focuses on macroeconomics, monetary economics, fiscal policies, income distribution, and financial crises.

Research Interests

Rosa Canelli's work spans several critical areas in contemporary economics. She explores the Stock-Flow Consistent (SFC) models for regional and national economic analysis, with a focus on Campania and Italy. Her research includes the impact of Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC) on money creation and financial intermediation, as well as the role of income distribution in economic growth and stability. Additionally, she investigates EU fiscal rules, their adequacy in addressing modern challenges like climate change and the Covid-19 pandemic, and the risks posed by the shadow banking system to financial and economic stability.

Scientific Activity

Her recent publications highlight the evolution of SFC models to include ecological variables and microfoundations, the effectiveness of EU fiscal policies during crises, and the interplay between debt dynamics and growth in Italy. She advocates for reforms in EU fiscal rules that prioritize debt-servicing burden over arbitrary debt-to-GDP targets.
