معرفی
Prof. Rony Keppens is a Full Professor at the Department of Mathematics, KU Leuven, leading the Centre for Mathematical Plasma Astrophysics. He holds the ERC Advanced Grant PROMINENT (2019–2024) and has extensive experience in computational plasma astrophysics, including roles at FOM Institute Rijnhuizen and Utrecht University. His research focuses on magnetohydrodynamics (MHD) and astrophysical plasma dynamics, with contributions to numerical methods like MPI-AMRVAC.
Keppens has been involved in teaching advanced computational methods for astrophysics at KU Leuven and has collaborated internationally, including at Nanjing University and Purple Mountain Observatory. His work bridges theory and simulation, addressing topics such as solar prominence physics, relativistic MHD, and plasma turbulence.
He has supervised numerous PhD students and postdocs, many of whom have secured academic or industrial roles globally. His research emphasizes computational tools for plasma dynamics, with applications to solar and astrophysical systems.
