معرفی
Ronit Eisenbach is a Professor of Architecture at the University of Maryland’s School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation (formally referenced as 'Maryland’s built environment school'). Her interdisciplinary practice bridges architecture, art, and education, focusing on ephemeral installations, public art, and spatial perception. She teaches design studios, theory courses, and innovative interdisciplinary programs like 'Making Place: Public Art and Design.'
Education:
- Master of Architecture, Cranbrook Academy of Art (1992)
- Bachelor of Architecture, Rhode Island School of Design (1986)
- Bachelor of Fine Arts, Rhode Island School of Design (1985)
Research & Creative Work: Eisenbach’s work explores how subjective elements (light, color, shadow) shape human interaction with space. Her installations, exhibited globally (e.g., Detroit Institute of Arts, Cranbrook Art Museum), often collaborate with choreographers to merge performance and architecture. Current research emphasizes catalytic relationships between temporary art and evolving urban sites.
Recent Articles & Themes: Recent scholarship (2023) interrogates architectural histories and futures, while earlier works (2019–2008) address urban interventions, pedagogy, and site-specific art. Her projects blend art, design, and community engagement to reimagine public spaces.
Awards & Recognition:
- AIA, ACSA, and ID Magazine Awards
- Beverly Willis Architecture Fellow
- MacDowell and Virginia Center for the Creative Arts Fellowships
Grants & Leadership: Supported by grants from the Mellon Foundation and others. Served on ACSA Board and National Building Museum’s Education Committee. Directs UMD’s Kibel Gallery and collaborates with NYU’s Center for Creative Research.
Labs/Teams: Curated exhibitions like Ruth Adler Schnee: A Passion for Color and Design (Venice, UMD). Leads interdisciplinary courses with faculty in dance, sculpture, and urban planning.
