Roni Gechtman is an Associate Professor in the Department of History at Mount Saint Vincent University, where he has taught since 2004 after previous positions at the University of King's College. Originally from Buenos Aires, Argentina, he brings international perspective to his work. Dr. Gechtman holds a PhD in Modern European and Jewish History from New York University and a BA from Hebrew University in Jerusalem.
His research focuses on Jewish labor movements in early 20th-century Eastern Europe, particularly examining the development of national minority programs by the Jewish Labour Bund. His current project explores the implementation of the Bund's national program in interwar Poland through cultural and recreational activities.
Dr. Gechtman teaches courses spanning Medieval to contemporary history, including:

His extensive publication record reveals consistent focus on Jewish socialist movements, national-cultural autonomy theories, and Marxist analyses of national identity. Articles demonstrate methodological sophistication in political historiography and cultural analysis of workers' movements across Russia and Poland.
