Dr Ronan Kelly is a Lecturer in the School of Education at Queensland University of Technology (QUT). He coordinates professional development modules in learning and teaching for academic staff, focusing on language development, multilingual education, and students' sense of belonging. His roles include postgraduate TESOL Study Area Coordinator and Senior Fellow of the UK Higher Education Academy (SFHEA).
Dr Kelly holds a Doctor of Philosophy from Ulster University. His research emphasizes translanguaging, inclusive assessments, and technology-enhanced learning in multilingual contexts. He actively contributes to professional bodies as Committee member of Queensland Association of TESOL (QATESOL) and Councillor of Australian Council of TESOL Associations (ACTA).
His recent work explores peer interaction dynamics among culturally diverse students, home-school partnerships for EAL learners, and the evolving ethics of consent in multilingual research. Dr Kelly supervises PhD candidates focusing on multilingual education challenges in diverse global contexts, including Sri Lanka and Mainland China.
He has published widely on translanguaging strategies, assessment design for multilingual students, and pandemic impacts on EAL education. His work advocates for inclusive pedagogical frameworks that bridge linguistic diversity and educational equity.
